A few years ago when we started our youth group at the church, we got hooked on the Skit Guy videos. The Skit Guys are just two ordinary buddies who decided to start doing videos with devotionals and it seems to have worked out well for them. I think our group owns all six videos they have put out in the recent years. Some of them are so deep I don't get them, some of them are hysterical and you can't help but crack up, there are several that are very serious with a really good message.
One of our group favorites is called "Never Runners." It is hilarious and silly...but there is a point to it in the end, although it's one of those that is a little deep. We have watched it several times though because the kids just crack up. Seems as though the adults of the group enjoy the videos that are spoofs on actual tv shows or companies, such as "To Catch a Doubledipper" is a spoof on the Dateline shows about catching sexual predators. "NeedHarmony" is a spoof on the online dating service, "E-Harmony." They are just funny...again, they all link up with a devotional and biblical references. "The Chisel Remastered" is very, very good too, not funny though.
You can go to their website www.skitguys.com and watch the videos for free. The new Easter one is excellent, very moving. Our kids seems to do best when there is a video, short as it may be, to watch. And it helps when they are funny. There are videos on there that are for churches too. The ones where the couple comes to the door of their "sinful" neighbor to witness are hilarious...and sadly, probably true!
If you have some time to kill, check out their website and watch a couple videos. If you have a youth group or even want to use them in a Sunday School Class, go for it. If you're close to me and would like to borrow some, just ask.
