We have recently discovered Joel Osteen Radio on our Sirius radio, Channel 128. It is FABULOUS. I heard my parents talking about stumbling across it on their way home from Michigan and then Jay tuned in and we've been ever hooked since. I don't even want to get out of my car. Our kids think we're nuts, but that's okay. The other morning on the way to school, I had Joel on and Lane said, "Oh, I heard this one yesterday with dad." Hmm, so he listens...
Every half hour he begins a new message with a joke. They're always funny, clean and a good intro for his topic. I look forward to hearing those funnies. Yes, he does have repeat messages, but sometimes it's a good thing to hear one over.
Today's message on the way to school/work this morning was great stuff. The topic was not letting others take your power away. He talked about the fact that there will always be people in your life that won't understand you or how you think, and there will be those that you will not be able to please regardless of how hard you try, among other things.
You know you have someone or several in your life that fall into this category. It seems like you cannot get this person to like you or see eye to eye with you on anything (even if you know you are right). Or the situation where you have obviously done something to upset another but for the life of you, you cannot remember or think of what it could possibly be. How about in the parent/child scenario? The child cannot seem to get one thing right no matter how hard they try to please the parent (or so they think).
We all have had those experiences. And I don't know about you, but these situations stress me out, cause me to carry around a dark cloud and it literally makes me have a pit in my stomach. Finally, I'm at the point in my life where I have learned that I must turn it over to God. I have to pray for my heart to be in the right place, ask God to point out any wrongdoing on my part, pray for the other person and then let it go. It is very hard to do at times because I like control and I like to be right.
But the message that Joel was bringing this morning on this subject was that stewing over these situations only causes that person to claim our joy, rob our sense of peace and take away our power. We should not let that happen. We also cannot let ourselves stoop to their level, which can be very difficult. I like to have the last word sometimes (or most of the time), but there are times when you just have to bite your tongue and walk away. Smile and wave, as the Penguins of Madagascar would say.
He had a funny analogy about this related to birds. He said something like, You are an eagle. They are a crow or sparrow. Fly high like an eagle where crows and sparrows cannot reach. Soar above so they cannot find you.
He said if we persist in being peaceful, doing the right thing no matter what the circumstance and continue to act out of kindness, God will notice. If the person you are praying for peace on doesn't accept your peace, God will pass that peace onto you so you can enjoy it. Ahh, Isn't that wonderful?
If you have access to Sirius radio either in your car or online, I urge you to try out Channel 128, Joel Osteen radio. It is so uplifting and encouraging. I'm not a big fan of TV evangelists, but this guy's messages are great. He will definitely give you something to think about.

Accelerator, Boost & Block
The next three products, in my opinion, are basically directed at weight loss. They are designed to be used in conjunction with the Slim. You would take either the Accelerator+ or the Boost, not both.
The Accelerator+, when taken with the Slim, helps speed up weight loss and/or helps overcome weight loss plateaus. The Accelerator+ works synergistically to help lose weight fast and easily. It also increases energy and acts as a further appetite suppressant.
The ingredients in Accelerator+ are natural substances and are considered safe for everyone, although it is not recommended for those taking blood pressure medicine. And as always, you should consult your doctor if you are unsure.

The 5-HTP listed just above is one of the key ingredients in the Accelerator+. It may reduce eating behaviors, reduce caloric intake and promote weight loss. It has been said that it helps with insomnia and can help lower the risk of heart disease. Because 5-HTP regulates moods and helps treat anxiety, the lower risk of heart disease is as a result of less anxiety and a more peaceful state of mind.
Boost - Looking
to turn up the heat on your weight loss? Plexus Boost is an alternative
companion to Plexus Slim, formulated to energize your life! The thermogenic
blend of ingredients in Boost contains Caralluma Fimbriata, an edible cactus
that has been traditionally used by tribal East Indians for years to suppress
hunger and enhance endurance through increased energy. It has now been
clinically proven to suppress appetite, reduce body weight and increase energy
intake. Plexus Boost also contains Yerba Mate which has been shown to be a
stimulant, diuretic and it may assist with weight management. The Higenamine
used in Plexus Boost, sourced from Tangerine Peel and Lotus Seed, has been
shown to increase energy. Plexus Boost is sure to live up to its name, helping

Personally, between the Accelerator+ and the Boost, I prefer the Accelerator+. I tried the Boost, but it made me jittery. I also cannot handle taking two of the Accelerators at once. I take one with my Slim and one at lunch. I think they help me control my appetite, and hey, if they help me sleep and be in a better mood...why not?
Their newest product is called Block. It blocks starches and sugars from converting to glucose in the body, thereby promoting healthy blood sugar levels. I take 1 Block capsule 30-40 minutes before my two biggest meals of the deal, normally lunch and supper. The hardest part with the Block - remembering to plan ahead and take it. I leave it in my purse for that reason.

·
Beneficially
modulates starch and table sugar digestion/absorption
·
Inhibits
enzymes that convert starches to glucose
· Slows
conversion of glucose to fat
· Promotes healthy weight control
Minimizes free radical damage/oxidative stress

vesiculosus standardized at 20% polyphenols)
Other Ingredients:
Microcrystalline cellulose, gelatin, magnesium stearate, Silicone dioxide. InSea2 contains naturally occurring Iodine
I can honestly say that within three weeks of adding the Block, I lost three inches off my waist. Just like that. I didn't lose any extra weight, just the inches. Some people like to refer to it as a chisel, chiseling away at your body and face. There are some great before and after photos of people who did the trial run with the Block before it was released to the public.

Pro Bio 5 & Bio Cleanse
Before Plexus, I had never, ever heard of Candida. At the beginning, I thought it was some 'thing' that someone had found to cause a panic and stir up business...until I started reading about it.
I'm not going to go into a bunch of the details about Candida because it's so far beyond my mind and ability to explain. You can Google Candida and find out all you need to know. My main hangup is why do doctors not talk about it more? I'm still at a loss on that one. They have to know it exists because it is real, and there are tests you can do to detect the levels, but they seem to treat the symptoms instead of getting to the heart of what is causing the problem to begin with. The overgrowth of Candida.
Here is where the Pro Bio 5 comes in. I copied and pasted this from our handbook...

"Pro Bio 5 provides a
solution to many of today's mystery symptoms. ProBio 5 features five
extra strength probiotics, added enzymes, intestinal flora, B6 and Grape Seed
extract — all in one effective delivery system — that supports the breaking
down of hostile organisms that negatively impact your health.
ProBio5 may provide the following benefits:
• Yeast organism
(Candida) and fungal cleanse
• Proper probiotic
balance in the intestinal tract
• Proper intestinal
balance which increases nutrient absorption
• Relief from typical
Candida symptoms (anxiety, recurring irritability, lethargy, allergies, acne,
dry/flaky skin, migraines, and so forth)
ProBio5 will typically provide the following results: A
relief from typical Candida symptoms, which may include anxiety, recurring
irritability, heartburn, indigestion, lethargy, extreme food and environmental
allergies, acne, dry, flaky, itchy skin, jock itch, migraine headaches,
recurring cystitis/vaginal infections, premenstrual tension, and menstrual
problems. A very large percentage of the population, all ages, sexes and races
have a yeast overgrowth and don't even know it!"
I am told that the Plexus Pro Bio 5 is the only probiotic out there that has what it takes to cure the Candida.
I will post the ingredients at the bottom of the page.
The companion to the Pro Bio 5 is the Bio Cleanse. I think of the Bio Cleanse as the fella who takes the trash out. The more correct definition would be that it oxygenates the body, detoxifies and cleanses the gastrointestinal tract and arteries, energizes both physically and mentally, neutralizes acidic conditions that may promote pathogens, enhances weight loss, supports collagen production and the big one - relieves constipation.
I'm going to be frank here...I think we can all agree that being constipated is not a good place to be. Ugh. In most cases, the Bio Cleanse will free you of that discomfort. In fact, the dosage you take may have to be altered as your system gets detoxed and begins functioning as it should.
Together these two products and the Slim make up the Triplex Combo. The Triplex Combo, by far, is the most popular combo and in my opinion is where it all starts. If a person has a Candida problem, it can inhibit weight loss. Kicking the Candida to the curb will then encourage your body to shed the excess weight.
It is amazing to me to read all the testimonials about how many lives have been improved by the taking of the Triplex. The story that had me hooked was the one about a local fella who has had Rheumatoid Arthritis, trouble with his lungs, and other serious health problems. He started taking the Slim in May of last year because someone gave him a bag to try. He was sure that little packet of pink powder wasn't going to do anything, but his wife insisted he try it - it had been given to him free of charge. So he did. A few weeks later he added the Fast Relief Capsules (I haven't told you all about them yet) and then the Pro Bio 5 and Bio Cleanse. He went to his doctor and asked to be given a four month sabbatical from his medications. The doctor agreed.
Three months later, he had a checkup. His doctor was amazed. When asked what his pain level was, he gave a 0. It had always been between 6 & 8. He has become a new man. He has lost about 35 pounds, which was never his goal, has been able to completely STOP all of his infusions and injections for his RA, his lung scan showed the biggest improvement yet, he is finally able to be active and interact with his family and grandkids. It has completely changed his life. His wife told me before Plexus she was literally watching her husband die right in front of her eyes because all the medications and infusions were slowly killing him. This person is someone I know. He is not some phantom Facebook friend ten states away. He is real. His results are real. And there are MANY more just like him, not just for arthritis, but all sorts of auto-immune disorders and related diseases.
It's crazy, I know. And that is why I have to share it!

Plexus Slim
The cornerstone of the Plexus family is the Plexus Slim a/k/a the Pink Drink. The Slim is sold in a 30-day package. The pink drink comes in packets similar to a Crystal Lite packet (the ones I used to be addicted to) and each morning approximately 30 minutes before breakfast, you mix it up with about 8-10 ounces of room-temperature water. Now, that is my normal protocol.
Some people don't like it first thing in the morning or take Thyroid medications and need to drink it later in the day. It is best to have it on an empty stomach. So drinking it 30 minutes before lunch works too. You need to drink it within 30 minutes or so of mixing it up.
It is best mixed with room-temperature water. It clumps easily if the water is too cold. If you prefer to have it cold, mix the Slim with a little bit warmer water and then add cold water or add ice cubes. I use a straw or fork to mix it up if I don't shake it to death in a bottle of water (which is my norm).
Now for the nitty gritty. Plexus Slim is all-natural, sweetened by Stevia, GMO and gluten-free. It has been shown to help people lose weight and inches by burning fat (not muscle). Slim helps keep blood sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol and lipids at healthy levels. Slim aids in reducing binge eating and increases willpower over food. The pink color in the drink is from beet root. (Yuck, I hate beets, just ask my mom! But you can't taste it in here, I promise.)
Many of those taking the Slim drink have been able to reduce or eliminate prescription medicines of all sorts - blood pressure, thyroid, anxiety, medicines for type 2 diabetics, migraines, ADHD. Yes, the Slim has been shown to help kids with ADHD, which is amazing. To be able to have your child drink 8-10 ounces of a harmless drink over years and years of ingesting harmful medication, that may have unpleasant side effects...I would like to think that if I had a child with ADHD, I would at least try it.
The following are the ingredients for the Slim:
The Slim drink is safe for people of all ages. I just watched a video the co-developer of the products made and he said there are even people who mix 1/5 of a packet of Slim in their baby formula. That amazed me, but as people have said over and over again, this drink is safe. I've seen quotes from doctors that review the ingredients who say something along these lines repeatedly, "Give it a try, there is nothing in there that will hurt you."
Of course, if you are on medication or are having serious health concerns, you should always consult your physician first. The ingredient list for all Plexus products are available for the world to see. They are not trying to hide anything.
Personally, I love the Slim taste. But I loved the Crystal Lite packets and anything else I could drink to steer clear from plain 'ole water. I am still shocked at how much water I drink. I know that my coworkers and friends from Lawrenceville would never believe that I don't carry around a 32-ounce gas station Diet Pepsi in a Styrofoam cup. It is how I greeted them each morning at the courthouse - cup in hand. Every single day for eleven years. I can hardly believe it myself. Now, I carry four or five water bottles into the courthouse each morning.
(I have read many stories about the Slim helping people break their addictions to pop or soda. The craving for it goes away.)
By far, the Plexus Slim is my new best friend (next to Jay, of course) and my most favorite product... although I have some very close seconds to tell you about.

Joyful Reunion
For my Facebook friends this won't be a surprise story...Sunday, January 4th, our little Boots, Madolyn's black and white kitten, disappeared. She goes in and out frequently as long as someone is around to open the door, and we have never had a problem with her not returning.
Sunday evening we noticed we had not seen her. We searched the house high and low, but nothing. The temperatures outside were horrific and we assumed she was in the barn and would turn up in the morning.
Monday morning came and she wasn't begging to come inside. We were slightly worried because it was so cold and it was very unlike her.
I told Jay this fall that I did not want to get her fixed just yet because I thought it would be fun to have one batch of kittens. He didn't really agree, but he didn't make an appointment for her either. So O decided that maybe she was off having kitties somewhere. She was a chubby, short thing and there had been a Tom cat hanging around in the fall. Jay thought she was too young, but I didn't dismiss the idea altogether and so Monday evening, the kids and I searched the house extensively and did not find her. My theory that she was off somewhere having babies was fading. She would've come out for food and water by now.
As the week progressed, Josie, the big kitty, was so pitiful. She was zipping around, up and down the stairs, meowing. She would sit at the big patio door and just watch, as if looking for her little buddy. Unfortunately, she was also reverting to her pre-Boots psychosis...which involves taking all of her frustrations out on me, which I'm told is out of love, but that doesn't make the scratches and bites less painful...
Every day I would text or call home and see if Boots showed up. I quit asking. Of course, Lane, our sympathetic one, would have to throw out that she had been coyote bait or make some sort of death gesture. Lane and Jay had found the white bunny carcass near the pond last weekend so the thought wasn't far-fetched...I just didn't want to hear about it.
I had announced we would have to get a new kitten because I could not live with Psycho Josie. Jay did not care for this idea at all, but I really saw no way around it. I wasn't running out to get a new kitty just yet, but the acquisition was imminent if Boots didn't return. Boots was Madolyn's kitten, but I loved the little gal dearly. She was simply the sweetest cat I have ever had.
I posted a few times over the course of last week about our MIA kitty and had lots of sympathetic ears. On Friday, I posted about getting a new kitten if Boots didn't turn up...
Friday evening we were getting ready to go to a basketball game and I saw headlights out the front windows. I went to the door and there were our closest neighbors...their daughter with a sweet black- and-white kitty in hand standing on our porch. I screamed, hugged the daughter, smushed the kitty and Madolyn came running outside. No one could believe it.
Immediately, Boots started her familiar purr and Madolyn ushered her inside. She had been lurking around their garage and they saw her just moments before. She was cold, a little wheezy and thin, but she was back. Josie and Boots exchanged a few hisses but are back to being best friends.
As is not always the case, all is well in the pet department at the Wilhoit Ranch...for now.

Plexus #3
Now for the rest of my immediate family.
I can't recall exactly when Jay decided to jump on board with me, but he started out taking the Fast Relief Nerve Support for his foot/heel because he had his big races coming up. He noticed a little difference, but then I asked him to try the Slim because I wanted to see if I was just dreaming things or was this stuff really totally awesome.
I kid you not, within four days of him starting the Slim, his thumb/nail fungus/wart fiasco was clearing up. We aren't quite sure but believe that wart and nasty nail have been present for well over a year. I AM NOT JOKING. I really wish I had taken a before picture. I took one about a week later. And right now that wart is completely and totally gone. The fingernail is finally growing out. It looks gross, but isn't stuck at the base anymore like it was.
Jay has since started taking the Pro Bio 5, the Bio Cleanse and the Fast Relief Capsules. (He stopped the Fast Relief Nerve Support when he started the Fast Relief Capsules.) He ran out of the Fast Relief Capsules and didn't tell me. He thought they weren't really doing anything...until a few days went by and he asked me to order more. I have even taken them lately and do believe there is something to them. I had a horrible headache last week and took my normal Excedrin. Nothing. Took two Fast Relief Capsules and again, I'm not exaggerating, within 30 minutes my headache was gone.
All throughout this time period, I am reading and watching videos about these products and learning more and more of their positive effects on our bodies, about getting our insides healthy and able to work the way God intended them to work and ridding ourselves of nasty Candida that wreaks havoc on our system. Lo and behold, I stumble across the connection between Acne and Candida. Ah-ha. We put Madolyn on the Pro Bio and Bio Cleanse and wouldn't you know...her acne is clearing up. Just the other night, I wanted to just touch her beautiful face because it was so amazing. She will probably always have flare-ups but the in-between stage has really improved.
If you have never suffered from acne, you don't understand what it's like. (Just like I don't understand people who have various conditions I don't have.) When I hear my daughter complain about her face, it breaks my heart because I know exactly what she's going through. I know why she doesn't wear tank-tops much and why she pulls her volleyball uniform down on her shoulders. When I was a cheerleader in high school, I always begged to wear the body suits because it covered the acne on my arms and back.
Watching her face clear up because of some simple supplements is so cool. My mom tried all kinds of things when she was a youngster to clear up her face and she took me to a dermatologist several times when I was in high school to try to clear my face up. We were poked and prodded (from the stories, her experiences were way worse) and I took medicine for a couple years and used a cream. Nothing really took care of it. Now I understand why. We were not treating the root of the problem. No one was addressing this mysterious candida!
Just recently we started Madolyn on the Slim. Not because she needs to lose weight. It's not strictly a weight-loss tool. You will only lose weight with the Slim if you need to. I'm hoping it helps her control her sugar craving (where did she get that?!) and with some other things she deals with on a regular basis.
My next goal is to have the whole family on the X-factor vitamin. We haven't forced Lane to try anything yet, but he is at the top on the list of guinea pigs. Some day he will probably drink the pink drink too.
So far that is what I can report about our immediate family. I have some friends who are noticing a few things here and there. It takes time. Our bodies didn't get in the shape they're in overnight, and we really have to wipe out the crud before all systems are fully prepared to function properly. Over the next few posts, I will describe the products and their ingredients to try to explain their purpose. I will try to post a few amazing testimonies on here. They're unbelievable. You won't want to believe that their success (in terms of health) is from Plexus, but it is.
Please understand my purpose in sharing about Plexus is not financially motivated. I would be lying if I said other people trying the products wouldn't help me, but if you discovered something that made you feel better, wouldn't you want to shout it from the mountaintops?

Plexus #2
Continuing on...I inquired at the December doctor visit if it was possible my numbers could go back down or even return to normal and he said yes. I'm very curious about that and cannot wait to see what my January labs show. When I had the blood work in October, I had only been taking the Plexus Slim for a couple weeks.
But here is what I can tell you about what I have noticed so far.
In mid-late September I started taking the Slim pink drink and the Accelerator. The Slim is a little packet of pink powder that you mix with about 8-10 ounces 30 minutes before breakfast each day. Thankfully, to me, it is delicious. I could drink it all day long, but it's way too pricey for that! And I guess 'they' say that the second one is only 40% effective as the first so it doesn't sound like it's worth it to double up anyway.
One of the core rules behind the Plexus products is drinking half your body weight of water (in ounces) each day. The water flushes out the toxins and junk that the Plexus products are working so hard to wipe away. The nice thing is that the Slim drink makes you crave water (at least to me) so it has not been a problem for me at all. (I suppose having the Sjogren's Syndrome a.k.a dry mouth doesn't hurt either, huh?) Regardless, I am chugging water all day long. I almost always have a bottle of water in my hand, at my desk, near my bed or in my purse.
By the time I began the Plexus Slim, I had cut my Crystal Lite with Caffeine intake to one a day (for the most part). I would mix one up as soon as I got to work and then force myself to drink water and unsweet tea. I had been doing that for a few months and it was going pretty well. I went ahead and drank a Crystal Lite on day 1 of the Slim, but decided not to on day 2 and I have not had one since. I do drink Diet Pepsi at the movie theater, Monical's Pizza and the local Mexican restaurant, but that is about it. Otherwise, it is water for me and would you believe I am okay with it? (I'm telling you if you would've told me a year ago I would drink water almost exclusively, I would have laughed at you.)
I do not miss my Crystal Lite with caffeine or all the artificial sweeteners I was consuming. At. All.
Within the first few days, I noticed a remarkable difference in my sleep. Sleep, for me, has been a struggle over the past few years. I can't explain it, but every now and then I will go through a phase where I cannot sleep. It is so frustrating because I know I need it, I just can't get it. When I realized I was actually sleeping, I was sold on the pink drink. I still hoped it would work other magic within my body, but the sleep factor was HUGE.
I remember at about week two realizing I wasn't craving junk all the time in the evenings, which was great. I'm a true junkie. I would trade a steak dinner for a half-gallon of chocolate ice cream any day. Just give me a spoon.
The Accelerator. I didn't think the Accelerator was doing a thing at first...so I switched it up and tried the Boost. My body does not handle medicines and things very well and the Boost and I were not friends. No worries, I went back to the Accelerator and realized it did way more than I ever realized by helping me to control my appetite. (It is supposed to help with your mood too. Of course, I think I'm always in the perfect mood...)
After continuing to research and read about Plexus products, I decided that the only way to really get myself healthy from the inside out was to start taking the Pro Bio 5 and the Bio Cleanse. From my reading, it seems that every human being should be taking these two products, unless you live in biblical times and/or have somehow not encountered man-made foods and drinks, stress, antibiotics, etc. If that is the case, please tell me how you do it.
Take a moment and Google "leaky gut" or "candida." Shocking to realize that something like Candida can cause such serious problems in so many people. All the while doctors are prescribing more and more medications and they really don't fix the core problem. I wonder if doctors would prescribe a good probiotic how many problems could be controlled or handled without prescription medication...
So in November sometime, I added the Pro Bio 5 and the Bio Cleanse to my Plexus regimen. That took some getting used to I will admit. Of course, being the all-or-nothing-kind-of-gal I am occasionally, I decided the directions were hogwash and started out full-boar with the Pro Bio. I quickly realized that was a mistake and backed it off (which was the correct advice and direction I had been given in the first place - Yes, I am one of those people, have to learn for myself).
In mid December I started taking the Block, which is their newest product and noticed right away amazing results. In roughly three weeks, I lost almost three inches off my waist. CRAZY! At this point I had lost about five pounds as well. For me, losing weight was something I hoped would come eventually, but I really was focused on getting my insides in order first.
Christmas came and I ate like a maniac. I have to say this because I have tested the theory - just because you're taking some really amazing Plexus products doesn't mean you can eat six rolls at a time, devour countless cookies and fudge, not exercise and be lazy. It's pretty magical, but NOT that magical. January 1 came along and I am serious again. Hallelujah.
Regardless of my failed eating/non-exercise plan, the other positive side effects remained.
In 2012, I rode a horse on a long ride and messed up my back and sciatica nerve, or whatever it is. I had never, ever had problems with low-back pain before in my life (except labor, which is how it felt to me). After that, it was constant. I have had several massages and visits to the chiropractor to loosen up the area and give me some relief. I took ibuprofen all the time for my various aches and pains. It just hit me a few weeks ago that I have not had that achy low back ache for weeks and I have not taken ibuprofen since maybe October.
Mid-November, I was beginning to prepare myself mentally for carpal tunnel surgery. My arms, wrists and hands were killing me. Even cutting back on the knitting (although it helped) did not ease much of the pain. I figured I would wait until January and then start exploring how that all worked. Here I am in January and I haven't even given that plan a thought for weeks. I have been knitting a lot too. My hands and wrists still get sore when I'm on a knitting binge, but nothing like they were a few months ago.
What have I done differently? Nothing except Plexus. There is nothing else I can say could possibly have attributed to those pains subsiding. Nothing. I know it sounds nuts. I know it sounds too good to be true. But I'm here to tell you, repeatedly, so far it is working for me.

Plexus #1
So I left you hanging there at the end of December, didn't I? Acted like I was going to quickly write about my Plexus journey and then there was nothing. Well, you should know by now it sometimes takes me a while to get with the program. I'm going to start by just telling you why and how I stumbled upon Plexus...
So last winter was not only an awful winter because of super cold temperatures and snow, but I felt terrible pretty much all the time. Most people would never have known because I just slap a smile on my face and carry on, but a majority of the time I felt awful all over. The weird thing is that I never got sick. I can't explain that at all. My kids were sick a couple times, Madolyn even had the nasty flu once real bad, but I remained free from those sicknesses somehow. At the time I kind of wondered if it was because I was cutting back on all the artificial sweeteners I had been consuming (a LOT). I don't know if that was part of it or not, but anyway...
In April, I decided I wanted to go get a physical. I hadn't had one for several years so I figured I was due. I see my OB/GYN regularly but I usually stick to the basics for that one, if you know what I mean. So I explained to my family doctor that I just felt awful all the time, I was tired, achy, my hips hurt, my back hurt, I just didn't feel like I thought I should feel when I was basically healthy. Nothing serious, nothing terribly painful, just annoying.
I don't know about you, but I always feel like a hypochondriac when I go to the doctor and start in with my symptoms and ailments. I feel like they just look at me like, uh-huh, really... I told her to just do the blood work and check me out - prove that I am a wimp so I can get over myself and move on.
And wouldn't you know, I had one abnormal finding so they referred me to a rheumatologist. This didn't come as a shock to me because auto-immune disorders run in my family, and about six years ago at a physical, a doctor had told me (based on what I was describing to her) that I could be a candidate for lupus down the road. Interesting.
I went to the rheumatologist in July. He was terrific. I explained to him that I was not seeking a diagnosis or medicine. I just wanted to go at whatever might be attacking my body full-throttle. Do what I could to minimize the symptoms and further progression. Based on what I told him, he thought it was probably nothing, early if anything and ordered more blood work.
And wouldn't you know, I had another abnormal finding in addition to the one I had before. Again, nothing major, more an indicator of something that could be going on, something to keep an eye on. He wanted more blood work in October and an appointment in December.
My third blood tests from early October indicated a higher level of whatever it was than the last time. Once again, nothing to fret over, but something to watch.
At my appointment in December we discussed the various blood test results and what conditions they could be indicative of down the road. He decided I probably had Sjorgren's Syndrome at the least which can't really be diagnosed 100% without some painful biopsy of the lip (no thank you). In the big scheme of things, this is very minor. My mouth is excessively dry, my eyes are dry and itch, etc.
He prescribed me a medicine to help with that...and told me not to take more than 3 a day or I might drool. He wasn't joking, I took one at work and drooled on my lap. I'm not a big fan of them. They make me dizzy and really, from dry mouth to drooling...I'm not sure which is worse at this point. Apparently, it's a good thing to tell your dentist...and possibly good for the dentist because at my cleaning, I came home with all kinds of products to help my dry mouth.
I have more blood work in a couple weeks and then I will return to him in March. I say all of this to get to my WHY of taking Plexus products.
Sometime probably in July or August, I started seeing a friend's posts about this Plexus stuff. You know how it is, you see the posts, you roll your eyes, skip over them and move on. You don't want to buy anything or read about how great something is because you know they're just trying to sell you something. I was soooo that person until...I read about this friend's dad. Her dad has Rheumatoid Arthritis, among other things, and has been ill for several years. He had started taking Plexus products in May and had great things to say.
Jay was also seeing these posts. Neither one of us are about quick fixes. We know (whether I live it or not) that exercise and a good diet are the one and only way to stay in good shape and be healthy. (At least as much as we have control over in that department.) Yes, I was trying to lose about ten pounds, but in reality, I was just wishing I felt better. Jay suggested I look into this Plexus stuff he kept reading about. So I did. And I'm now one of those crazy Plexus people.
Yes, I am going to post about Plexus weekly on my Facebook and drive people mad. If I hear you have an ailment that I think Plexus can help, I will hand you a brochure. I'm probably going to lose some Facebook 'friends' because of it. That is okay. I have super thick (and oily) skin. I can take it. And I may even find people darting the other direction when they see me - for fear I may bring it up, but I will not stop...Unless I see that the products are no longer working for me and my family, then I will back off. But as long as there are positive changes, you're going to hear about it.
