Although the fair has come a long way and is now blessed with many supportive sponsors, there are still costs involved with maintaining and improving the fairgrounds and other associated expenses not covered by sponsors or state support. Please consider attending the breakfast and making a donation. The fair is now a non-for-profit organization so the donation is tax deductible.
On Sunday, March 24, at the Martinsville Community Center, the Heritage Committee is sponsoring a Soup, Sandwich and Dessert lunch. They will be serving from 11:30-1:30, and it is also a free-will donation. The Heritage Committee is planning something new this year at the National Road Festival, June 15 & 16, called "Heritage Days." Funds from this lunch will go to support events of that weekend. At this time, there isn't a restaurant open in town on Saturdays or Sundays where people can eat and visit with others, so it' a good opportunity to fellowship with your neighbors and community members. And who doesn't enjoy food and fellowship?! You'll also be supporting two worthy causes that keep our wonderful small town going.
